Specialist Groups

Every year we welcome a wide range of specialist groups to the centre.

Our extensive facilities can offer the perfect training venue for outdoor activity training providers or specialist public and third-sector organisations, such as cave rescue teams, mountain rescue units, and military groups.

In addition, we have lots of experience in working with additional learning needs groups, disability groups, and a wide selection of charities.

Our Climbing Facilities

Our facilities present a wealth of possibilities for specialist groups, lending themselves to providing the perfect setting for events and training courses.

  • Different types of climbing surface
  • Natural, limestone rock walls
  • 15 metre abseil tower
  • Indoor caving system

Technical Training

“The Pit” area of the climbing wall is ideal as an indoor version of an outside environment, with its large, natural limestone boulders.

Over the years, we have developed it alongside local groups and training providers, providing a useful venue for their courses and training events.

  • Cave Rescue and Mountain Rescue – great for technical ropework and stretcher training, cave rescues from our artificial caving system, setting up tyroleans
  • Mountain Training providers – perfect for outdoor rock climbing training, creating and managing belays, climbing techniques using natural holds, problem-solving
  • British Caving Association training providers – for single rope technique training and in-cave problem-solving

If you want to find out how we can help out with your technical training, please get in touch.

Inclusive Groups

Many of our activities can be adapted to suit the needs of guests who have additional learning or physical needs.

We have a selection of equipment, permanent anchors and trained staff who can set up appropriate systems to assist those with additional physical needs.
